Start Here: what Algomatic Trading actually is (and what paid members get)
The one post to read before anything else.
If you just subscribed, welcome. If you’ve been reading for a while and never quite understood what the paid tier is about, this post is for you too.
Let me explain what this newsletter is, what’s inside the library and why some readers eventually upgrade to premium.
What this newsletter is
Algomatic Trading is a systematic trading research library. Every month I publish at least one new strategy, fully backtested, with complete code, position sizing logic and performance data going back 10-30+ years.
The strategies are simple by design. Not because complexity is hard, but because complexity usually destroys edges. The goal is to find rule-based systems that have a real reason to work, test them honestly and document them so you can actually trade or adapt them.
One thing that makes this different
Most strategy content online shows you one backtest, usually a cherry-picked one and you never hear about it again.
Here, every strategy I publish is tracked publicly through the Strategy Performance Tracker on algomatictrading.com. You can see how systems perform after being published, not just how they looked historically.
The systems aren’t optimized to look perfect.
They’re designed to be robust, simple and tradable.
Free posts cover:
The strategy idea
The logic behind it
Backtest charts
Equity curves
Why the edge may exist You’ll get a genuine feel for whether a strategy makes sense. That part is always free.
What premium members get
Premium members get:
The full code
Exact parameters
Position sizing logic
Robustness testing
And access to the growing strategy library with every system I’ve published, not just the latest one.
The library now contains 18+ complete strategies across Nasdaq 100, S&P 500, Gold, DAX and commodities, covering mean reversion, trend following and intraday systems. Every one includes full ProRealTime code, text-based description for easy translation, robustness tests and a live performance tracker updated publicly on the website.
Since going fully systematic in December 2023, the live strategy portfolio has produced a +27.4% CAGR after fees and commissions across 469 trades.
Not every strategy works all the time. The edge comes from combining multiple independent systems into a diversified portfolio.
Here’s a sample of what’s inside:
And 15+ more beyond these. Portfolio combinations too, showing how two or more strategies can complement each other to smooth equity curves and reduce drawdown.
The three ways to access my strategies
Monthly (€29/month) — unlock each new strategy as it drops. Best if you want to test one system at a time. Note this tier covers new releases only, NOT the full library.
Annual (€249/year) — same access, 35% cheaper. Covers a full year of releases.
Premium (€399/year) — Unlocks the full library. Every strategy ever published, every portfolio combination, plus all future releases for a year. This is designed for traders building diversified systematic portfolios rather than looking for a single strategy.
Want to see what a full paid strategy looks like?
Strategy #18 (SuperTrend Crossover) is the latest release: Nasdaq 100 and Gold, daily timeframe, backtested to 2005. The free preview shows the full backtest chart and equity curve. The code and parameters are behind the paywall. It’s a good example of what paid posts look like.
If you have questions about whether paid is right for you, just reply to any email. I read them.
